Guice Offshore Salutes Hispanic Heritage Month and Latin Contributions To Maritime

Bureau of Labor statistics show that almost 20 percent of the water transportation industry is represented by Hispanics

With the start of Hispanic Heritage Month on September 15, Guice Offshore is proud to salute the contributions of generations of Hispanic-Americans who continue to positively influence and enrich our nation and society, particularly in the maritime industry.

In a recent address to his students and the maritime community at large, Maritime College President RADM Michael Alfultis, USMS, Ph.D. noted “Hispanics have had a profound influence on our country through their commitment to family, hard work and service.  Having excelled in every field, including the maritime industry, Hispanics have helped shape the economy and national character of our country.  Bureau of Labor statistics show that almost 20 percent of the water transportation industry is represented by Hispanics.”

To celebrate, we’d like to share a wonderful repository of educational, entertaining, cultural and historical information compiled by the Library of Congress, National Archives and Records Administration, National Endowment for the Humanities, National Gallery of Art, National Park Service, Smithsonian Institution and United States Holocaust Memorial Museum for Hispanic Heritage Month that will delight both professionals, families and individuals whether they are part of the Hispanic community or just want to learn more!
