Maritime recruiting is a specialized area due to the industry’s complex regulatory landscape, unique combination of skills required, global operations, and challenging work environments. Unlike generic hiring, it demands a deep understanding of these intricacies to ensure the safety, compliance, and efficiency of global maritime operations. 

Guice Offshore (GO) is a maritime transportation company specializing in the operation of dynamically positioned mini-supply and multi-purpose vessels for the offshore “specialty” marketplace. Founded in May 2009, we provide offshore vessel and offshore engineering technical services to a broad range of critical industries across North America and in select international markets.

 

About the Role:
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Maritime Recruiter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, recruiting, evaluating, and hiring qualified marine crews for U.S. Flag vessels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and recruit marine crew members for various vessel positions.
  • Screen candidates, verify credentials, and ensure compliance with U.S. Flag requirements.
  • Maintain accurate candidate records using applicant tracking systems.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with candidates and industry contacts, maritime academies, training institutions, and manning agents.
  • Coordinate pre-employment documentation, medicals, and travel logistics.
  • Coordinate onboarding and assist with licensing and certification processes.
  • Monitor recruitment metrics and prepare regular reports on hiring status and manpower planning.
  • Stay updated on market trends, salary benchmarks, and changes in maritime labor regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Outgoing personality with strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Highly organized and proficient in computer applications, including ATS.
  • Knowledge of marine licensing requirements strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
